exploring your erotic self
One person’s turn-on is another person’s turn-off. That’s why it’s important for us to explore the way we are uniquely aroused. Instead, many of us have normalized navigating life and sexual experiences where we are disconnected from our bodies and our erotic power. Exploring your erotic self through tending to your body, exploring your fantasies, understanding what stimulates you, pursuing your desires, and honoring your boundaries allows you to live an erotically empowered life. During this workshop, we will discuss eroticism and oppressive barriers that keep us from exploring our erotic selves. We’ll explore strategies for sensual living, identifying our turn-ons, and fantasy play. We’ll also create an action plan to add intentionality around living our most erotic life.
i’m feeling myself: unpacking masturbation shame
We live in a society that wants us to believe that all of our power and pleasure comes from outside of us and that we’ll feel powerful in response to what we do or obtain. However, masturbation is affirmation that we can feel power and pleasure right at the tips of our fingers (literally). This source of power, pleasure, and knowledge has always been available for us to tap into and yet we’ve been taught that it was dirty, something for ‘lonely’ people, sinful, and that we should feel ashamed for having a desire to explore our own bodies. We encourage you to listen to your body, prioritize your sexual wellness, and explore masturbation as a tool for stress reduction, self-exploration, and enhancing pleasure. In this workshop, we will learn practices for confronting masturbation shame and stigma. We’ll explore the anatomy of arousal, health benefits, and different uses of masturbation. We’ll also learn strategies and techniques for enhancing our solo sex practice.
reimagining relationships
Relationships are hard, and like sex, people assume we should just naturally know how to do it well. Many of us have not been taught how to be in healthy romantic and sexual relationships and have tried our best to figure it out by piecing together what we’ve seen in movies and modeled around us. Unfortunately, this can leave us with a limited perspective of what a healthy relationship can look like. There are so many different relationship models that exist and by allowing ourselves to reimagine relationships we get to explore what is an ideal relationship for us. What do you need to feel loved, affirmed, secure, and valued? How do you define commitment? What do you consider to be cheating? How do you want to handle disagreements? What are your green and red flags in a relationship? In this workshop, we’ll reflect on some unhealthy relationship behaviors we were taught. We’ll learn about attachment styles and how they may be impacting our relationships today. We’ll explore various relationship models that help to expand our understanding of what is possible for us. We’ll discuss healthy relationship strategies around navigating conflict, communicating our needs and boundaries, dealing with rejection and jealousy, and more. We’ll end by using guided prompts and exercises to help us identify and actively move towards what our ideal healthy relationship looks like.
less oppression, more orgasms
Imagine if instead of feeling shame around your sexual desires, you feel liberated by knowing exactly what it is you like and empowered in being able to own it. You no longer feel disconnected from your body and erotic self and find yourself having more pleasurable sexual and life experiences. That is what we want for you! We live in a society where systems of oppression are invested in us being disconnected from our bodies, sexuality, and desires. Many of us struggle with sexual shame that keeps us from exploring our bodies and experiencing the kind of sex and pleasure we desire. Now is the time to work in direct opposition to the messages that we are not worth self-love, that we should hide our sexuality, and devoid ourselves of sexual pleasure. In this workshop, we’ll explore how oppressive messages have impacted your sexual exploration and expression. We’ll learn strategies for confronting and unlearning these internalized oppressive messages. We will also build tools to help you live a life in which you are connected with your body, empowered to ask for what you want, and refuse to settle for unpleasurable experiences from your lover or oppressive culture.
